Provision of a maintenance access platform for train cleaning crews at Railway Traction Depot in South Wales.
The client approached us for a custom made solution to facilitate easy & safe access to train carriages parked at the depot for cleaning operations. A raised platform made entirely from fibreglass composite products was designed to allow this access and egress over a length of 92 metres, which incorporated an Anti-slip walking surface, integral safety handrail & end of platform steps.
Accurate drawings and on-site measurements were taken which allowed for prefabrication of the structure at our factory, followed by assembly on site atop ready laid concrete footings.
The offsite fabrication allowed the complete structure to be installed in four days with no interference to the operations of the depot.
