SummaryOur client, a manufacturer of cooked poultry based foods, was having some issues with slips on both their internal & external stair cases, as all the steps were either steel chequer plate or tiled. These surfaces combined with either food debris, oil, fat or water, required rectification to avoid a serious incident. After consultation, the installation of our GRP fibreglass Anti-slip stair tread covers was proposed.
The tread covers needed to match the overall look of the areas where they were in use, so the bespoke range was an ideal choice for the application. We highlighted the noses of the treads to suit the colour coded areas of the plant (red for high risk and yellow for low risk).
Our customer also specified a finer grade of grit to make the cleaning of the treads a little easier. To ensure we met the high standards of hygiene required in food production areas, all of the edges of the step covers were fully sealed in with adhesive/sealant.
Pre-measurement and manufacture off site led to a rapid installation of all areas within two days, minimising disruption.
