SummaryWe were approached by the site Health & Safety Manager of a large fresh & cooked meats factory to take a look at a problem they were experiencing. As part of their cleaning regime, the chequer plate stainless steel platform steps in use on the production line were becoming slippery following washdown.
The solution lay with retro-fitted fibreglass anti-slip stair tread covers. We were able to achieve a colour match for the covers to the corporate image of the company using a product from our Bespoke range. The client was keen to see the solution implemented in the quickest possible time to eliminate any slip hazards.
Installation of the product was undertaken in a 4 hour period following manufacture to premeasured sizes. During the fitting, the tread covers are adhesive fixed & sealed to the structure.
Initially, the company’s technical department was concerned about any effect the product might have on cleaning regimes, but they quickly found there were no issues. Since installation, they have subsequently authorised the product to be installed in all the high-risk areas throughout the factory as well.
